Her Music

Patient 0

Tess and guitarist Hannah Fowler started playing together in 2014. They spent their early teens listening to old punk music, which influenced Patient 0’s alt-rock sound. The band’s attitude and snarky lyricism owe a debt of gratitude to the riot-grrrl genre as well. Patient 0 officially formed in early 2017 with the addition of Cooper Lowell on drums. Later, James Gunter was the band’s drummer.

Patient 0 released their first single, "Short Term Fixes," in March of 2018 with Cooper Lowell on drums. Their debut album, "Girl Problems," was released in September of 2019 and featured James Gunter on drums for all tracks but “Jealousy,” where Hannah handled the sticks. This album was recorded during Hannah and Tess' senior year of high school and the following summer. "Girl Problems" focuses on the trials and tribulations of coming of age while simultaneously tackling first relationships, identity issues, and mixed emotions about growing up.

The Voice Memos

In an interview she gave with a college arts magazine a month before her passing, she said, "I have a lot of songs that haven't been recorded or put out anywhere." The songs she mentioned were eventually found by her parents in the voice memos on her phone.

Her father Inman Majors and producer Brian Pulito compiled The Voice Memos; an intimate look into Tess' creative process, with 14 original songs in their original organic state. When handling the audio of the rough demos, Multi GRAMMY Award winning Mastering Engineer, Darcy Proper, was brought in for final edits and to complete the recordings.

Beautifully raw, the songs capture a whisper of a lyric, a sometimes out of tune guitar, and vulnerability from a young artist navigating love, heartbreak, and relationships.

The Voice Memos release honors two landmarks that Tess was due to pass in May of 2023: her twenty-second birthday and her graduation from college.

”Distant” by The Company

At the end of the summer before Tess went off to school, The Company made a video for their single Distant. Tess’s family had forgotten about the video—weren’t sure it had ever been completed – until the producer sent a link in early 2020.  They are very glad to have it and appreciate everyone involved for making it happen. Here it is:
